The Story Behind the Music
Born in 1969, music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
But I’ve never been particularly interested in following the mainstream.
As a teenager, I was fascinated by the world of DJ mixes — the sounds of DJ Deep, Studio 33, Studio 54 and many others. I couldn’t get enough of those mixes and the energy they created.
Later, I discovered live mixing through various web- and mix-radios. I learned how to mix myself and eventually became a DJ on several online radio stations.
At one point, I took the next step and created my own web radio.
What started as my own little radio project eventually became something much bigger: DJs from different countries joined us and performed live on our station.
After four years, circumstances in my private life forced me to give it up. The radio’s data was lost, and I never had the opportunity to rebuild what we had created.
But the music never stopped.
I moved on to creating my own mixes with Ableton Live.
And today, I’ve taken the next step once again:
I write songs.
I create music.
I tell stories.
And this is where Andrew Cut begins.
The Reason Behind the Music
I’m fascinated by life itself.
The situations we experience.
The people we meet.
The things we sometimes overlook.
I’m deeply moved by stories that deserve to be told — and by perspectives that may not always be obvious at first glance.
I want my music to make people pause for a moment.
